The Style Evolution Of Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian has graduated from trashy celebutante to bona fide A-List fashionista. However, it did take her a few years and a few unforgivable fashion fails to finally get to where she is today.

Back in 2008 Kim was the typical LA princess. Her day time look consisting of a CROPPED DENIM JACKET, a pair of oversized hooped earrings and the obligatory Hermes bag. All we’re saying is, Kim wouldn’t have been asked to appear on the cover of Vogue if she still dressed like this!

Kim’s day time look may not have been up to scratch, but what about her evening attire? Oh, no, wait…still bad. A sparkly polo neck minidress with those hoop earrings popping up again. The worst part? The thigh high suede boots.
By 2009 Kim seems to be trying to go for a more chic look, although animal prints tucked into satin mini skirts just don’t cut it.
A very rare photo of Kim in flats. Not even flats, flip flops! Who even knew that she owned a pair? We’ll temporarily look over that fact because she’s teamed them with ripped flared jeans and…is that tie dye? We wouldn’t have believed it if we didn't have such strong evidence.
By 2011 Kim’s rocking the most recognisable Kardashian look. Bright coloured satin with long dark hair and a serious pair of eyelashes.
In the Humphries era Kim was still trying desperately to be the belle of the ball, although the problem was that she was trying way to hard. Floor length sparkles and a mesh open back certainly screaming “look at me!” although not for the right reasons.
Post-Humphries and Pre-Kanye, Kim was beginning to finally understand that less is more. Dressed in head-to-toe black in May 2012, this is Kim’s best look yet. Looking chic in a classic black leather jacket, gone are the hoops earrings and bling, in are the understated but on trend accessories.
Once firmly established as Kanye’s arm candy, Kim seems to start understand the concept of black tie. Dressed in a floor-length royal blue dress with a slit up the leg, she is finally starting to look like an A-List star.
Just after the birth of her daughter, North, Kim’s wardrobe seemed to brim with beautiful pieces. Casual but cool in a beautiful cream coat and matching heels, the Kanye customised Hermes bag is this outfit’s one letdown.
Kim’s most beautiful black tie look yet, she looked divine at the Met Gala 2014. In floor length Lanvin with a silk belt cinching her waist, we’re finally a little wiser about why Anna Wintour gave Kim’s April Vogue cover the go ahead.
