This Labor Day, Jay Z Is Bringing "Made In America" To Downtown Los Angeles

Jay Z and the Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti have announced that the rapper’s Made in America festival is moving to Grand Park in LA for this year’s Labor Day. According to Mayor Garcetti, the event heralds the revival of Downtown LA. The Mayor said in a statement on Wednesday that Made in America will "shine a spotlight" on Grand Park, the city's up-and-coming Civic Center gathering spot.

However, the idea is not without its critics. The $125-per-ticket event is sparking debate about the future of the refurbished venue. Tickets also went on sale Wednesday, according to the LA Times. With this expansion, the festival is now a bicoastal event, with the LA gigs being held alongside the original Made in America festival, which takes place in Philadelphia over Labor Day Weekend.

Budweiser Made In America will be the first festival to operate simultaneously on both U.S. coasts. Official lineups for both festivals are expected in early May, but at the moment, various outlets are speculating that Jay Z’s partner-in-crime Beyonce will make an appearance in Los Angeles. Performances from both festivals will also be livestreamed by Budweiser.
