Michael Strahan: From The NFL To 'Good Morning America'

Since retiring from the NFL in 2007, Michael Strahan hasn't exactly been talking it easy. The past six years have seen him transform himself from ex-footballer player in to a media darling, and now things are set to get even bigger for the 6 foot 5 star. Yesterday it was announced that Strahan is joining the team of Good Morning America after Josh Elliot's sudden departure. So how did a former New York Giant find himself as the next member of America’s biggest morning show?

Now Strahan will be adding a new high profile spot to his television resume, a co-hosting spot on Good Morning America. For now the gig is said to be just part time and Strahan will continue to present Live! with Kelly and Michael. For many former athletes retirement proves the biggest career challenge of all, but Michael has handled it with ease. Transitioning from the football field to mainstream television is not an easy career move, but you wouldn't be able to tell that based on Stranhan. As much as he would surly be missed alongside Kelly Rippa, a GMA hosting gig is just too good to turn down. Luckily for now it seems like viewers might get a double dose of Strahan in the mornings, which is really worth getting up for.
