Dumb & Dumber, Interstellar, Transformers: Things We Learnt At CinemaCon

Every year the big Hollywood studios invade Las Vegas for the annual CinemaCon event, a showcase of what movie fans can expect over the next year and beyond. So far this year the event has been pretty spectacular, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and ‘_Transformers: Age of Extinctio_n’, are just some of the films that we got to know a little more about at the event. So here’s our low down on what you need to know from CinemaCon so far.

Disney presented their look ahead on Wednesday, with the big news being first footage of Pixar’s upcoming ‘Inside Out’ which is scheduled for release next year. The film takes place in the mind of an 11 year old girl, whose emotions take over after she struggles to cope with her family’s move. Fear, sadness, joy, disgust and anger are all portrayed by different characters inside her head. In the clip the girl was shown having dinner with her family when her mother asks her how her day was, her inner emotions then begin to take over confusing her reponse. What it also revealed it that we’ll also see into the mind of the girl's parents.

Another big reveal was a trailer for the upcoming live action 'Cinderella' movie directed by Kenneth BranagH. Lily James, best known for playing Lady Rose in 'Downton Abbey' stars as the famous character, who has Cate Blanchett as her wicked stepmother and Helena Bonham Carter as the fairy godmother. The teaser showed Bonham Carter turning the pumpkin into a chariot for Cinderella.

Sony’s big draw was the presentation of 30 minutes of footage from the upcoming ‘Amazing Spiderman 2’. Here we got to learn a lot more about the movie’s plot, which Sony’s Rory Bruer said ‘represents a turning point for Peter Parker,” We learnt how Peter’s parents die and that he has been trying to keep his promise to Captain George Stacy, having stayed away from Gwen for over a year. It also showed the first meeting between Spiderman and new villain, Electro, played by Jamie Foxx, whom Harry Osbourne later springs from prison. They also showed a reel of footage from upcoming movies including '22 Jump Street', 'Think Like a Man Too', 'Sex Tape', 'The Interview' and action-thriller 'The Equalizer'. As well as the first footage from upcoming Brad Pitt WWII drama ‘Fury’.

Christopher Nolan also made an appearance at Cinema Con, to talk about his upcoming sci-fi movie ‘Interstellar’. The much anticipated flick which stars Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine had been kept pretty much top secret until now. He described McConaughey's character an 'everyman' and said the film uses interstellar travel to go to other places you couldn't reach beyond normal space travel. He also revealed that it has been mostly shot on Imax cameras. It is scheduled for a November release.

'Interstellar' - it's coming

After all that we're more excited that ever for the upcoming cinema releases. 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' looks likely to live up to expectations and as for 'Interstellar', well we're intrigued. We just can't wait to learn even more about these fantastic movies, all we can do now is wait until May when '_The Amazing Spider-Man 2' r_eally kicks things off. __
