Cara Delevingne To Break Into TV With New Tim Firth Wartime Drama
Cara Delevingne is to finally make her way into television acting after landing her first major role in an upcoming Sky Arts drama, penned by Tim Firth ('Calendar Girls,' 'Kinky Boots'). The brand new television series will air this year with the 21 year-old model taking centre-stage as one of the main characters.
"It's a really touching story and I'm really honoured to be working with Sylvia in a one-off production for Playhouse Presents," Delevingne told Vogue. "This will be my first time working in television drama and I am excited by the opportunity." Cara won't be the only big-name star to appear in Timeless; she'll act alongside Friends' Matthew Perry, Cloud Atlas' Ben Whishaw and Amadeus' Simon Callow.
Modelling Pays The Bills For Cara, But Her Real Dream Is To Act.
The model and It girl has spoken about her love of acting before and has said that she'd prefer to be an actress. She landed her first film role as a minor character in Michael Winterbottom's adaptation of the Amanda Knox murder trial Face of an Angel. Speaking from the set in January, Cara spoke of her dreams: "Modelling is a great job, and I appreciate everything it has brought me, but it's not my passion. As far back as I can remember I have wanted to act," via The Telegraph.
