Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie once again made sure all eyes were on them at last night's Academy Awards as they led the Hollywood royalty down the red carpet whilst looking very much the loved-up pair. The acting duo were virtually inseparable when posing for photos on the red carpet, making sure they were always touching and flashing dazzling smiles.

After last month's BAFTAs in London where the couple appeared in a matching tuxedo ensemble, Angelina decided to opt for a more feminine look at the Oscars and picked out a sparkling metallic and sheer gown by Elie Saab Haute Couture with diamond earrings and smoky eyes. Brad, as usual, played it safe with another classic and well-cut tuxedo and bowtie.
The Tomb Raider actress' glam dress was very modest this year in comparison to last year's infamous thigh high-split dress, which even earned her right leg its own Twitter page. It looks like Angelina didn't want to provoke such fevered attention this time around so kept all her limbs well-covered as she let the attention fall on her fiancé, who was part of the Oscar-winning 12 Years A Slave ensemble.

As a co-producer and actor in the highly awarded picture, Pitt had much to celebrate but made sure his glamorous fiancée didn't feel overshadowed this year. When a clip of Angelina appeared in a montage, he leaned over to give her a big kiss in a moment that has been immortalised in a rather addictive and smooshy gif.

The couple also became part of Ellen Degeneres' record-breaking red carpet selfie which crashed Twitter after being retweeted over half a million times in half an hour, easily breaking 1.2 million within the hour. Pitt also partook in host Ellen's takeaway stunt in which she ordered pizzas to the Oscars from real fast food restaurants. The suave actor was pictured munching pizza whils it was handed out by the delivery guys and Ellen herself.
