As the 86th annual Academy-Awards begin, Ellen Degeneres says she is "honored and flattered" to be hosting for the second time, before highlighting some of night's nominee's including first timers Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave) and Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips).

The 56 year-old playfully joked that "between all of the nominee's you have made 1400 films.and only six years of college," and then poked fun at Jennifer Lawrence for falling over at last year's ceremony, before pointing out the 23 year-olds mishap when getting out of a car at the red carpet.

"If you win tonight I think we should bring you the Oscar," DeGeneres laughed. "We can do that, right? Can we do that?"

After the funny and arguably perfectly-lengthed way to kick-off the 86th Academy-Awards it is now time for Hollywood's best and the expected 1 billion people watching, to see who will victorious at tonight's ceremony.

Out of all the 24 categories, the Best Actor award is gaining a lot of attention due the tremendously talented nominee's in their equally as impressive films.

But one question which will be answered is, will Leonardo DiCpario win his first Oscar?

With a career defining performance in 'Martin Scorsese's 'The Wolf of Wall Street', many believe he will not go home empty handed. DiCaprio portrays the real life Jordan Belfort, a power hungry criminal, who defrauded investors and the stock market for millions of dollars during the 90s.

Since Mr. Belfort also developed quite a hard and extravagate partying life style, which included a very intense drug addiction, DiCaprio was forced to act as ridiculous and scandalous as possible, resulting into some of the most hilarious scenes in any movie this year.

The 39 year-old, who was nominated for his first Oscar twenty years ago for Best Supporting Actor in 1993's 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape', has already won a Golden Globe for 'Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy,' last month (Feb).

Another intriguing aspect of the Oscars, that has gripped the attention of movie lovers, is the battle for Best Supporting Actress. Although there are five nominee's in the category, it is pretty certain only two actresses will be competing for the award, they are Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle) and Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave).

Lawrence, who plays conman Irving Rosenfeld's emotionally unstable wife Rosalyn in David O.Russell's 1970's crime thriller, has already won a 'Golden Globe' and BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress earlier this year.

Lupita Nyong'o received an Oscar nod for playing an African American slave in Steve McQueen's extremely raw, yet powerful historical-drama '12 Years A Slave', this is her first ever nomination.
