Brit Awards 2014: The Best, And Worst Dressed On The Night [Pictures]
It might be the biggest awards show for the British music scene, but the Brit Awards also always manages to bring out the best (and worst) in British fashion too. Last night was no exception as everyone from Rita Ora to Jessie J strutted their stuff on the always entertaining red carpet. Here's some of the best and more questionable looks of the evening.
Rita Ora certainly brought some sunshine to the red carpet in this yellow floor length Prada dress. The form fitting gown with plunging neckline and jewelled straps did the job of showing off the singer’s fantastic figure making sure all eyes were on Rita last night.
Ellie Goudling tried a princess moment in her Vivienne Westwood gown, however it ended up looking just a little too baggy on the singer’s small frame. The British female solo artist award winner’s dress featured a pink corset top and full white skirt, but she opted to keep her hair and makeup a lot simpler, with a loose plait and simple pink lipstick.
Supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is becoming a definite one to watch in the style stakes. The statuesque model wore a Yves Saint Laurent red and black sequinned mini dress, showing off her perfect model pins and looking every inch the glamour goddess.
Also proving that less length is more was singer Kylie Minogue, who opted for a daring black PVC creation by William Wilde. However Kylie wasn’t the only star channelling a bit of the ’50 Shades of Grey’ effect on the red carpet. Ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger sexed up her trouser suit with a leather bralet top which was accessorised with a studded harness, meow!
Rapper Iggy Azelea went for a more demure look than usual in an Elie Saab red maxi dress. Also keeping it elegant on the red carpet was British singer Pixie Lott who went for a white DKNY dress which featured a wide back and leg split to show off her toned figure.
Keeping it short but still chanelling some retro glamour were TV presenter Fearne Cotton and singer Sophie Ellis Bextor. Fearne wore a metallic silver prom dress, while Sophie kept it simple in a black dress with a chiffon ruffled bottom skirt.
Sequins were also a major hit on the red carpet as demonstrated by Lily Allen, who shone in a vintage navy sequin dress by Norrell. The singer added a pop of colour to the look with her yellow ponytail and gold clutch bag. A less successful sequinned look, however, came from singer Jessie J whose flesh coloured Julien Macdonald bodysuit and purple lipstick might have turned heads for the wrong reasons.
