Five Amazing Clips From The Wolf Of Wall Street
If you haven’t seen The Wolf of Wall Street, because a) you don’t live in America or b) the violently abusive language has been well documented by the press, or even c) you can’t be bothered, then these clips might interest you. Well, apart from you b) folks, you can go **** a ******* **** can’t you.
Martin Scorsese’s indulgent white collar crime comedy drama sees Leonardo Dicaprio fill the boots of Jordan Belfort, a 90s stockbroker who spent 22 months in jail following the fraudulent activity in 1998.
Standing at three hours long, and ringing in the most F-words heard in a film, The Wolf of Wall Street is certainly an acquired taste. But go on, acquire it; we think these clips might help you with that.
The first one gives us an insight into Belfort’s family life, and what a ridiculous family life it is. He and the mother of his child engage in what can only be described as an adult conversation while said child is in the arms of ‘daddy’. And if you just want the trailer, that's here.
Belfort’s words come back to bite him as his wife/girlfriend/lady person withholds any carnal activities from the cocky stockbroker.

The second clip sees Belfort meet Donnie Azoff – played by Jonah Hill – for the first time. Azoff confidently approaches him, forcing Belfort to nonchalantly disclose his gargantuan salary. Azoff immediately quits his job and goes to work for Belfort when a pay stub for $72,000 is wielded.
Donnie Azoff is the representation of Danny Porush, who actually spent 39 months in prison after he and Belfort pleaded guilty to 10 counts of securities fraud. Porush is currently a director of the Boca Raton, Florida-based medical supplies company Med-Care Diabetic & Medical Supplies Inc.

In the third clip, the guys are at the heights of their financial power and are chastised by Belfort’s father for spending $26,000 on one meal, despite the young stockbroker’s best efforts to excuse the frivolous behaviour due to clients being present at the meal. Azoff even jokes that the sides ordered could actually cure cancer. That’s why they were so expensive.
The film’s witty dialogue can be attributed to multi-Primetime Emmy winning writer Terence Winter, who worked on 'The Sopranos', 'Boardwalk Empire' and 'Brooklyn Rules'.

The fourth clip sees one of many hilarious interchanges between Belfort and the FBI as his charm and charisma, not to mention his knowledge of the law and careful background work, get him out of many tight situations. In this particular one, a proposed bribe goes wrong as the FBI agent calls him up on it.
A bit of confidence and some brilliant physical acting (see DiCaprios’ fingers tap on his overpriced wicker chair) and he’s soon back on top.
The real life Belfort wrote two memoirs, The Wolf of Wall Street and Catching the Wolf of Wall Street, which have been published in approximately 40 countries and translated into 18 languages. Sales have spikes since Scorsese’s movie was announced.

And finally, the fifth clip opens up one of the funniest parts of the trailer: “You have my money taped to your boobs; technically you do work for me”. In the constant game of cat and mouse between the FBI and Belfort et al, making sure your money is safe is paramount, as any Breaking Bad fans will know.
It’s not only the reason criminals commit most crimes, but also the most incriminating factor of any crime – losing it simply not an option. And if you’re going to move your money anywhere in the world, the relaxed tax laws of Switzerland make the European country an attractive option, for all the morally deprived white collar criminals out there anyway.
The Wolf of Wall Street opened on Christmas day in America, and will hit U.K cinemas on January 17th.
