Miley Cyrus' Busy Week: Ending The Year With A New Video And A Possible New Feud
As the end of the year approaches, Miley Cyrus seems determined to return to that coveted most talked about position in showbiz. For the past couple of weeks, celebrity news outlets have been far too occupied with praising Beyonce’s surprise new album, which broke pretty much every rule in the music industry. But with Miley fresh off her holiday break, there’s a lot to talk about once again. Where to even begin.
Even throughout the holiday season, Miley just kept on going.
We could probably talk about Miley responding to a fellow Disney dropout Joe Jonas’ recent expose. Responding to the New York Times and indirectly to Jonas’ claim that it was her and Demi Lovato who introduced him to weed back in the day, Cyrus said: “"If you want to smoke weed, you're going to smoke weed. There's nothing that two little girls are going to get you to do that you don't want to do. I thought maybe he was saying that like it was going to make him look badass.”

She does have a point there. Cyrus goes on, however, once again displaying some of that surprising maturity we’ve gotten a glimpse of over the past year. On the broader subject of drugs and celebrities, she commented: “There was a thing that Kurt Cobain said, something like, 'There's a special place in hell for people that glamorize drugs,' and I never want to be that person that's, like, talking to 16- and 17-year-olds and being like, 'Smoke weed.' I've got a little sister. I don't want her to smoke weed, and it's not because I think weed is bad, but — ... She'll make the choice.”
First she gave a very public response to Joe Jonas.
That’s an admirable statement, of course, but coming from the woman, who lit up onstage at the EMAs, it sounds less than believable. But Cyrus has been busy with more than just some ex-Disney banter and kissing Cara Delevingne, Milers also managed to release the video for Adore You.
In keeping with her newfound maturity, she isn’t swinging around on any wrecking balls this time. The ballad is set to a low-key video made up of close-ups of Miley, while she writhes around on some white sheets. There’s also a home video bit, presumably to make it more intimate and a scene, which features a mesh dress and a bathtub. There’s little to distract us from the song though, which is a good change of pace for Cyrus. Not a bad way to end a year of non-stop media controversy.
And finally, the video for Adore You is here. Watch it below.
