FROZEN

'Frozen' Is An Enchanting Tale About A Kingdom In Permanent Winter.

This sweet and enchanting Disney movie will surely provide your sugar hit - if that's what you're into - this merry weekend. The animated comedy-adventure follows Anna (Kristen Bell), a fearless young girl, whose kingdom is trapped in eternal winter. She teams up with moose-riding mountaineer Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) on a quest to find Anna's sister, The Snow Queen (Idina Menzel). They encounter mystical trolls along the way as well as a hapless snowman named Olaf (Josh Gad) and plenty of mischief too.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

'The Hunger Games' Is Bound To Be A Hit This Weekend.

The long-awaited sequel to The Hunger Games has finally been released and will catch up with Hunger Games District 12 victors Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) as they adjust to life as celebrities. NEBRASKA

'Nebraska' Could Be One Of The Surprise Hits Of The Weekend.

This Alexander Payne-directed black and white drama has already become the second most nominated movie of the Independent Spirit Awards with six potential prizes to be won. Bruce Dern plays a booze-addled old man who makes the trip to his home state of Nebraska after he is informed that he's won a million dollars in an obvious scam. His son (Will Forte) agrees to take him on the road, if only to escape his own misery.

Nebraska premiered at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, Nebraska's acclaim has turned from a slow rumble to a shout as more people see the film. Forte's performance is being heralded as a potential breakthrough winner but the whole spectacular unit is chugging slowly and surely towards the Oscars next year.

MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM

Naomie Harris Stars As Winnie Mandela In The Biopic.

This Nelson Mandela biopic details the life of the important anti-apartheid leader, played by Idris Elba, who spent years in jail before emerging to become a key political leader and ground-breaking president. Although this is definitely one for the history buffs, all will find something to enjoy in this story of the intense racial struggles in South Africa.

Though the movie is only being shown in Los Angeles and New York this weekend, its release will be rolled out across the states in the coming weeks. FYI: Elba's performance is being billed as unmissable, Oscar-worthy stuff. In other words, you'd be a fool to miss this. Still need a reason? Read what critics are saying.

OLDBOY

Don't Get In The Way Of An Imprisoned Man Seeking Revenge.

Oldboy is probably not a good movie to go and see with young children seeing as it is the very violent Spike Lee remake of the 2003 Korean film of the same name. A drunk guy (Josh Brolin) gets imprisoned in a hotel room for 20 years. Upon his release, he goes on a brutal quest to find and kill the person who locked him up for all that time.

Brolin stars alongside Samuel L. Jackson Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley in this mystery action drama that is drenched with bloody torture. The gist so far is that it doesn't quite match up to the original but who doesn't love a violent revenge storyline on Thanksgiving?
