Royal Variety Show: Robbie Williams, Jessie J, Olly Murs And Gary Barlow Bring The Noise
Yesterday evening, the London Palladium played host to the 86th Royal Variety Performance where Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla welcomed a starry line-up of celebrity guests and entertainers. The annual gala's line-up consists of high energy family entertainment, including comedians, pop stars, dancing and other novelty acts.

This year saw stars in attendance including Jessie J, Robbie Williams, Olly Murs, Gary Barlow, Mary J. Blige and Dame Edna Everage. The latter of whom provided one of the evening's biggest surprises when she turned up in the royal box rendering both Charles and Camilla speechless but laughing heartily.

In an evening hosted by Scouse comedian John Bishop, the royals watched on as pop stars brought their special, one-off performances to the theatre hall. Take That singer Gary Barlow was the first act of the evening, performing powerful renditions of 'Greatest Day' and 'Let Me Go.' Robbie Williams and Olly Murs teamed up in a toe-tapping duet where they covered the classic Jungle Book tune, 'I Wanna Be Like You.' Singer Jessie J also debuted her new single 'Thunder' with a visually impressive lightshow and smoke effects.

Meanwhile, dance unit Attraction, 80s figure skaters Torvill and Dean, the cast of the hit West End musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and singer Mary J. Blige each had their part to play in the glamorous evening that will be broadcast by ITV in December.

Jessie J's revealing white outfit may have raised some eyebrows whilst she shook hands with Charles and Camilla but the meeting seemed to go by without any offence caused or embarrassing slips, though admittedly the future King did look a little redder than usual.
Jessie J, who last year shaved off her hair for Comic Relief, spoke ahead of the Variety show to express her excitement towards the honour of graduating to a coveted Variety slot. "I have watched the Royal Variety Show since I was a little girl and always dreamt of being on it. It will be a real special moment for me. I can't wait," she said, via The Express, adding "It feels like you've got a sense of responsibility as a British artist to fulfil the standard."
The Royal Variety Performance will be screened on ITV on Monday 9th December.
