Jennifer Lawrence Stuns With Pixie Cut At 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Premiere [Pictures]

Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson hit the web carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on Monday evening (November 18, 2013).

The cast are hard at work promoting the second movie in the huge grossing franchise and all the indications suggest Catching Fire will eclipse the original and pull in millions more than most movies released this year.
The Catching Fire tour has rolled through London, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Paris, but Monday night was the biggie: Los Angeles.
The entire cast, including Lawrence, Hutcherson, Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Lenny Kravitz, Woody Harrelson, Philip Seymour Hoffman and director Francis Lawrence were on-hand to walk the red-carpet.
Surprisingly, Lawrence told the Hollywood Reporter that of all the stops on the promotional tour, Rome was the craziest. "We were at the Rome Film Festival, and there were probably 10,000 people," he said on the red carpet. "It was insane. I've never seen anything like it."
Lawrence has already begun work on the next instalment of the franchise, Mockingjay: Part 1, and he confirmed that the cast will head back to resume shooting right after Thanksgiving.
Of his lead actress - Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence - Lawrence was full of compliments, "She's a giant goofball, but she's an amazing actress," he said. "I've never seen somebody who is so intuitive. She just understands people, and emotion and behavior, and she's a great read of people. I think she's able to use that in an astonishing way."
Despite the array of stars walking the red-carpet, the majority of fans were awaiting the arrival of Lawrence, who eventually atepped out debuting a new shorter haircut. She wore a dark grey Dior Haute Couture gown.
As well as the stars of the movie, also in attendance were the likes of Jaden and Willow Smith, Sarah Hyland, Joe Jonas, Ashlee Simpson, Kylie Jenner, Bella Thorne, Lyndsy Fonseca, Chord Overstreet, Kiernan Shipka and Liam's brother Luke Hemsworth.
In the theater, a chipper Jon Feltheimer - the Lionsgate CEO - made a speech to an enthusiastic speech.
"It's great to see so many friends here tonight. As a matter of fact, I didn't know I had so many friends until I started getting phone calls last week from people looking for tickets for tonight," he said, getting laughs from the crowd.
"After a long week of premieres in London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid and Rome, we're back here in the Capitol," he added, before introducing director Francis Lawrence.
Afterwards, the celebrities moved onto a glitzy party though Lawrence, Hemsworth and Hutcherson were only noticeable by their absence. They had to fly out early to New York for the final stop on the promotional tour - a media day and screening.
Catching Fire has managed a rather incredible score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, with the critics uproarious about the job the two Lawrence's have done with the sequel.
"Jennifer Lawrence, of course, is the real draw. Female role models come and go, and Lawrence's Katniss is one of the better ones," said Village Voice's Stephanie Zacharek.
"Like Katniss ducking a poison-tip arrow, the keepers of Suzanne Collins's trilogy of fantasy novels have dodged the perils of the sloppy second franchise film," said Cath Clarke of Time Out.
"Francis Lawrence imbues the source material with visceral pleasure in well-wrought scenes vacillating between elaborate spectacle, breathtaking terror, and - occasionally - surprising beauty," Richard Larson of Slant Magazine enthuses.
"(Francis Lawrence) adds some important new pieces to that group and expands the world in a way that doesn't throw out Ross's film, but that uses it as a way to get to something even better," says HitFix's Drew McWeeny.
