Selena Gomez Pictures – Former Disney Star Is All Grown Up [Pictures]
Selena Gomez’s Disney days are well and truly over, and the 21-year-old Texas-born star is moving on to create a more mature body of work. Her recent performance in Dallas saw her bare her midriff in a white ensemble, which is typical of her recent penchant for skimpy clothing.
Sound like any other former Disney star who’s making the headlines for her scantily clad appearance? No? We thought not. Anyway, Gomez isn’t exactly making headlines for her clothing, but she’s certainly catching peoples’ eyes.
She recently - having performed in her home state of Texas - turned up to the Flaunt’s En Garde issue launch part in a ridiculously revealing outfit, stating – in no uncertain terms – that her Disney days are over; it’s all about ‘Spring Breakers’ and ‘Come and Get It.’
Gomez v Lorde
Gomez has recently been in the news for criticizing fellow young star Lorde. The New Zealand is actually even younger than Selena at 17-years-old, but you wouldn’t know it judging by her music, including the irrepressible ‘Royals’.
It all began when Lorde called Gomez’s song ‘Come and Get It’ “anti feminist”, which, prompted Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend to call Lorde to task in Flaunt. “That’s not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women. That’s my honest opinion, that’s what I would say to her if I saw her,' Gomez said.
Looking forward
“I actually covered her song [Royals] in all of my shows that I’ve done so far. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue that,” she added of Lorde's hit And in terms of the future the young star just wants to be happy. “I hope that I’ve left a bigger impact...Oh, God. I don't know," said Selena. "I hope that I’m really happy by 30,” she explained. (via The Daily Mail)
Homecoming
Selena will be returning to Dallas as it's been announced that she'll perform at half time during the Dallas Cowboys and The Oakland Raiders. "Dallas is my hometown, and to be invited to perform on behalf of The Salvation Army is such a great honor," Selena said on Sunday in a statement.
