Albequerque Residents Teaming Up For Walter White's Funeral, All In The Name Of Charity
Breaking Bad ended up being such a huge success, it’s not surprising that the wake of the series isn’t over yet (“wake” being a key word here). The latest promotional stunt is to be a funeral for chemistry-teacher-turned-meth-kingpin Walter White, but this time, it will be for a good cause. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the event is being hosted by a charity from Walt’s native Albuquerque. It will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 4:30 p.m. in New Mexico's Sunset Memorial Park.
"I think this pays tribute to his memory, and I think he would love this if he could see it from the heavens," Buzzell told The Hollywood Reporter. "One thing someone told me is, 'Hey, it's one gangster taking care of another gangster' in fictional ways."
Despite this being one of the most uplifting stories to come out of the Breaking Bad finale, we can’t help but cast a doubt on the idea of a fictional drug lord seeing anything from the heavens. Buzzell, on the other hand, might get his “Good Deed of the Day” card punched. The enthusiastic Breaking Bad fan is going through all the motions of a funeral, including an actual headstone for White, but what he actually hopes to achieve is the goal of raising $100 000 in aid of Health Care for the Homeless.
