Zac Efron's Coke Addiction Called Out By Rob Lowe In "Rehab" Tweet?
Zac Efron managed to get away with quietly slipping into rehab, completing his stint and re-entering normal society all without any serious news hitting the gossip headlines. Now, five months later the news has emerged that the 25 year-old actor did go to rehab in April to battle a stubborn cocaine addiction, according to TMZ.

Apparently, Efron's drug problem began to noticeably spiral out of control after his absense from several days of filming Seth Rogen's comedy Neighbors earlier this year. A film source speaking to TMZ said "It was common knowledge he was struggling with cocaine."
Efron seems to have turned over a new leaf now, ditching strip clubs, wild nights and hotel cocaine benders for a spell of sobriety and a chance to knuckle down with his upcoming movie about Kennedy's assassination, Parkland.

On the same day press revealed that Efron had completed a stint in rehab, his friend and fellow actor Rob Lowe sent out a rather supportive and non-judgemental tweet, perhaps in order to bolster Efron's confidence under the media's scrutiny.
"A thought: if you only find out a person has been to rehab weeks or months after they got out, they're probably serious about recovery," wrote the 49 year-old West Wing actor, who has himself recently notched up 23 years of sobriety.

Lowe's wisdom was probably a much-needed message of support for Efron, who'll find it hard tackling prejudice and fan disappointment now his story of drugs issues is out. At least Lowe can show the young High School Musical star that the way to recovery is a well-trodden path and together their experiences can warn against the perils of drug use for fans.
