Why Neil Patrick Harris Loves Presenting The Primetime Emmys
Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday and seems to be excited to do so! This will be the second time Harris has presented the awards, and the 65th time the award ceremony has been held.
Harris has spoken of his love for television and that he is pleased to be involved in an event which honours it. As reported by USA Today, Harris said "I love TV and the motley crew of people that are part of it. With so many TV offerings of every type, I think that makes for a better viewing experience of television than ever, and I'm happy to be the guy in charge of honouring that."
The nominations for the Primetime Emmy Awards this year include such shows as Breaking Bad; House of Cards; Modern Family; Game of Thrones and Mad Men. Whilst those receiving nominations include such actors as: Kevin Spacey, Michael Douglas, Matt Damon and Jeff Daniels. Nominations for the female awards also include Helen Mirren, Laura Linney, Jessica Lange and Elisabeth Moss.
It seems Harris has been hard at work rehearsing for the ceremony and appears to be involved in some form of dance routine. He tweeted referencing his preparations, stating that he has "crazy respect" for the show's dancers. Although details of his performance will remain a secret until the show, Harris has hinted it may include some of his lesser known talents such as magic, juggling and singing. He claims such skills are "as it turns out, good attributes for being a host."
