Beth Chapman's Arrest Warrant For "Coarse Language" - Will Dog Claim The Bounty?

Beth Chapman, the wife of Dog the Bounty Hunter a.k.a. Duane Chapman, truly knows how to make friends and influence people. The couple were fishing at a Colorado lake earlier this month. An incident occurred in which, although details are hazy, it appears a teenager driver simply drove by.

There must have been some further difficulties for Chapman berated and verbally abused one of the car's passengers. She called the young woman (we can safely assume due to the nature of the language she used) a number of insults including "slut", "tramp" and "whore", according to TMZ.

Allegedly, Chapman called the emergency services as another of the passengers was carrying a gun. She claims this male passenger was holding the handle of his piece in an intimidating manner. In Colorado, carrying a gun in public areas is not illegal. Therefore, this man had not breached any law.

Chapman had left the scene of the crime shortly after calling the police, therefore was not on hand to offer her side of the story. However, the teenage passenger had hung around and was therefore able to file a criminal harassment complaint. Chapman's use of such "coarse language" or the taunting or challenging of another qualifies as a crime under Colorado law.

Following this incident, police issued a summons for Chapman. She was asked to appear at the police station in order to collect the paperwork. However, it appears she refused to do so and police were forced to issue an arrest warrant. Following this escalation, Chapman's lawyers have arranged for their client to hand herself in to police and accept the summons.

As an arrest warrant was issued, it was entirely within Dog's jurisdiction to arrest his wife and collect some money by dropping her at the police station. It appears, however, Chapman's arrest will not feature on the couple's reality show, Dog and Beth: On the Hunt.
