Busy Philipps Gives Birth To Second Daughter

Cougar Town actress Busy Philipps and screenwriter Marc Silverstein welcomed a healthy baby girl into their lives on 2nd July. Her representative confirmed in a statement: "I can confirm [Busy] gave birth to a baby girl on July 2 who weighed 8.5 pounds. Everyone is healthy and happy," as reported in The Daily Mail.

Busy, real name Elizabeth, announced the birth herself via Instagram in a blurry black and white photo with the simple caption "So this happened...", referring to the tiny baby she was cradling in her arms. People states that during an appearance on Anderson Live, she explains her reasons for announcing the arrival of her little one to the world on Twitter: "I just wanted it to come directly from me in my voice. I always hate those celebrity statements that are like, 'We are so over the moon and overjoyed.'"

Busy Philipps Set To Star In New Rom-Com, _A Case of You._Back in April, the 34 year-old actress revealed she was expecting a baby girl to The Huffington Post yet explained how their 4 year-old daughter was being prepared for a sibling: "My daughter is super excited. She's actually incredibly helpful and she's four and a half, so she's really understanding things, when I say like, 'Mom can't carry you right now because the baby in her tummy is pressing down on her bladder!' She understands what that means and she's cool with it."

She and Marc Silverstein, a rom-com writer who she's been married to since 2007, have been loaded with congratulations from fans and fellows celebs alike. Courtney Cox, who co-stars with Philipps in Cougar Town tweeted "Sending huge love and hugs and squeezes to @Busyphilipps25 and the whole gang. Xoxo" whilst 21 Jump Street actress Holly Robinson Peete said excitedly, "Congratulations Busy Marc n Birdie!!! Beautiful! You're catching up ;) xoxo"

Busy's currently gearing up to star in upcoming Justin Long rom-com, A Case of You. No name has been announced yet but Phillips mentioned that she's waiting for the moment when little Birdie asks "when does it go back" - let's hope she's got a good answer ready!
