NYPD Say That Amanda Bynes Definitely Is Lying About Being Sexually Assaulted

  • 28 May 2013

In a move that has shocked no-one, the New York Police Department have vehemently denied the allegations made by troubled star Amanda Bynes, who claims that she was sexually assaulted before her arrest last week. The former child star was taken into police custody on Thursday (May 23) after police responded to reports that she was smoking cannabis in her NYC apartment, with Bynes throwing her bong out of her 36th floor window when confronted by police.

Over the course of the weekend, Bynes has spent much of ehr time on Twitter denying any wrongdoing on her behalf, claiming that she is drug and alcohol free and the media are inventing stories to make her look bad. On Saturday (May 25), the Easy A actress went one further and started throwing accusations around, name that she was sexually assaulted by one of the officers who entered her apartment on Thursday, writing on her Twitter; "I was sexually harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me... He slapped my vagina...The cops were creepy. The cop sexually harassed me, they found no pot on me or bong outside my window. That's why the judge let me go. Don't believe any reports."

She then continued to re-Tweet various stories that mentioned her supposed run-in with the cop, remaining somewhat quiet on the situation until Monday (May 27), when she revealed her intentions to sue the NYPD for false imprisonment and for lying, going on to say that she is also going to sue her apartment complex for filing a false report to police about her pot smoking habits. Interestingly enough, when she did go through all her intentions she failed to mention the harassment again, although her claims her already imbedded in peoples minds by this point, the NYPD's in particular.

Byne's claims are very bold, and the police are having none of it

Denying all wrongdoing, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for New York, Paul J. Browne, gave a statement to E! News today (May 28) mentioning the outlandishness of Bynes' claims, saying; "NYPD Internal Affairs investigators have found no evidence to corroborate Ms. Bynes' allegations. To the contrary, a credible civilian witness who was with the officers throughout told investigators that none touched Ms. Bynes inappropriately or otherwise engaged in misconduct at any time."

With her next court date scheduled for July 9, Bynes could end up in a heap of trouble following her Twitter outburst, and may end up much worse off than she was on Thursday evening. Either that, or the NYPD could have one hell of a PR disaster on their hands and an almighty fallout to follow. Whatever happens, we can't wait to find out!

What do you think? Is she tellling the truth?
