Rod Stewart Ends 34-Year Wait To Climb To The Top Of The UK Album Chart Again

Singer Rod Stewart is currently re-living the glory years of his career after seeing his latest album, Time, shoot to the top of the UK Album Chart this Sunday (May 19); his first to reach the coveted position since his 1979 Greatest Hits collection.

Stewart wasn't the only 70's star to dart up the album chart with a new release either, as former Abba singer Agnetha Faltskog's return to music saw the singer's A album climb tho number 6.

The last number one single for the singer came thirty years ago, when 1983's 'Baby Jane' reached the top of the charts and following the fantastic success of his album, now looks as goood a time as ever for the singer to end that drought too. Speaking about the success of his album, the singer told reporters that he was 'very proud' of the achievement, adding that he thanks a long life of experience and God for his enduring success. He said; 'I've lived a wonderful life and when I was putting the book [his autobiography] together it inspired many of the songs. If there's anything that God gave, and some people may disagree, he gave me a tremendous vehicle in my voice. It's just very unique, so I was just lucky to be given this voice.'
