Andrew Garfield And Jamie Foxx Shoot 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' In New York!
Andrew Garfield and Jamie Foxx filmed a dramatic fight scene for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in New York on Sunday afternoon (April 28, 2012). Garfield, 29, wore his superhero suit and turquoise beanie hat for much of the daily's filming, while Foxx looked rather geeky as super villain Electro's alter-ego Maxwell Dillon. In place of his usual shaved head, Jamie wore a strange looking wig complete with receding hairline and glasses.
According to the Daily Mail, many of the stunts were performed by a handful of doubles, though New Yorkers were able to get a glimpse of the Hollywood A-listers wandering around the set. One of the sequences, in which Foxx engaged in a spring for the cameras while grasping a stack of blueprints in his arms appears to be a key plot line in the movie. As fans of the comic books will know, Maxwell is an electrical engineer who gets struck by lightning while repairing a power line. The strike causes a change which gives him the power to control electricity. In other words, he's a considerable threat to Spider-Man.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Garfield shot scenes as Spider-Man's alter-ego Peter Parker and another fight scene in which he scuffled with Electro. For what it's worth, Spidey appeared to be winning.
The highly anticipated sequel to 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man is slated to hit theaters in 2014.
