Chloe Grace Chloe Moretz Defends Justin Bieber's Anne Frank Comments
_Actress Chloe Grace Moretz has defended fellow teen star Justin Bieber_ after he was slammed for an "insensitive" message he scribbled in a guest book at the _A_nne Frank House museum in _A_msterdam, Holland on Friday (12_A_pr13).
The Baby hitmaker visited the tourist attraction, where the Jewish teenager and her family hid from the Nazis during World War Ii, ahead of a show nearby and left a note that many history buffs and admirers of the war heroine found to be in poor taste.
The message, which was posted online by a staff member, read, "Truly inspiring to be able to come here. _A_nne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a Belieber (fan)."
Even officials at the museum felt the need to defend their famous visitor after critics took aim at Bieber for his insincere guest book scribble, and at the MTV Movie _A_wards on Sunday (14_A_pr13) Kick-_A_ss star Moretz offered her thoughts about the controversy, suggesting Bieber probably didn't mean to cause offence with his comment and insisting that sometimes it helps to bring "light into... dark situations."
She said, "I don't know, a lot of people are Beliebers, maybe she (_A_nne Frank) would have been a Belieber. (But) I very much respect _A_nne Frank and... everything she went through... (It) is a very serious situation and, you know, to make a joke of it sometimes is kind of inappropriate. But, at the same time, you can look at it and go, 'Well, you've got to bring light into those dark situations'."
