CinemaCon: Paramount Unveils Terrifying World War Z Scene
Paramount Pictures had its big presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Nevada, showing new Star Trek Into Darkness footage and an explosive new scene from Brad Pitt's World War Z. According to CinemaBlend.com, the epic scene delighted the crowds inside The Colosseum in Ceasar's Palace.
The website reports that the scene opens with an airplane drifting through the sky, with most passengers asleep of sitting comfortably, including Brad Pitt's character Gerry Lane. A dog hops off its owners seat and heads to the back of the plane where it starts barking at a door. A flight attendant gives the pooch a confusing look before opening the door. And then all hells breaks loose.
A zombie waiting inside wanders out, sending the flight into panic. Gerry asks the passengers to take their luggae and create a blockage that will keep the zombies out. "The zombies take notice immediately and begin to charge, bringing the same state of panic to the front of the plane. A soldier that Gerry is with begins to open fire at the zombies and Gerry grabs a grenade off of her belt," writes Cinema Blend's Eric Eisenberg.
The scene ends with the explosion, which leaves a gaping hole in the side of the plane. All the zombies are sucked out, leaving Gerry, the soldier and a few others holding on for dear life.
World War Z is shaping up to be one of the year's most impressive looking movies. It hits theaters on June 21, 2013. Watch the trailer below:
