A Recycling Mix-Up? Hundreds Of Fan Letters For Taylor Swift, Dumped In Nashville

  • 13 March 2013

Why exactly were Taylor Swift’s fan letters dumped in a bin in Nashville? A local resident found the box of unopened letters and cards in a recycling bin and Taylor’s record label are insisting that it’s simply some kind of terrible recycling mix-up.

Kylee Francescan was throwing away some of her own recycling, when she found the big box of unopened fan mail. Being a fan of Swift’s herself and knowing how much Taylor’s fans mean to her, Kylee realised that the mail was covered in glitter and love hearts and pictures of Taylor and decided to rectify the situation by returning the box of mail to her record label.

Speaking to Nashville’s News 2, Kylee said “There were like hundreds pf letters in there to Taylor and I’m like ‘oh my gosh!’ I didn’t know if they were stolen or discarded, so I threw them in a box. And I’m like, somebody needs to let Taylor know. It did bother me because I know how much her fans mean to her.” The letters in question were all addressed to Taylor Swift Entertainment, at a PO Box address located at a nearby mall, where it gets collected by her record company staff on a regular basis, The Sun reports. A spokeswoman for Swift, named Paula Erickson, insisted that Taylor would be reunited with her fan-mail as soon as possible.

“Taylor gets thousands of fan letters everyday and they are delivered to her management office,” said Paula. “After the letters are opened and read, they are recycled. The only explanation for any letters being unopened would be that a small batch of mail that was supposed to be delivered to Taylor was accidentally put with letters headed for the recycling centre."

Taylor Swift, seems she never got those letters you wrote, kids...

Taylor Swift, looking pensive... perhaps she's waiting for the mail man...?
