Recovery Break For Jeremy Kyle After Cancer Treatment

  • 30 January 2013

The TV chat show host Jeremy Kyle is recovering from treatment for testicular cancer, Sky News have reported. The TV personality – known for his no-nonsense handling of various low-rent personal scandals and announcer of more paternity tests than the CSA (possibly) - has taken a break from his TV presenting job in order that he can recover from his medical treatment.

A statement on Kyle’s Facebook page revealed “After an operation and chemotherapy treatment, I'm pleased to say he's now on the mend. It's been a really tough couple of months for him and his family but he wanted to let you all know that he appreciates your continuing support. Jeremy will be back at work next week to start filming new shows which you'll see on TV very soon.” Kyle, 47, was diagnosed with cancer after discovering a growth last year.

Having hosted the Jeremy Kyle show for seven and a half years, the absence of the presenter from ITV’s morning schedule will be a notable one. The network released a statement to say “We wish Jeremy well and are pleased that he is making such good progress.” Last week, The Jeremy Kyle Show was nominated for a National Television Award for best daytime TV. However, Kyle lost out to the long-running show This Morning.
