Singer Don Mclean Fined For Speeding

Singer/songwriter Don Mclean has been fined $400 (£250) for speeding through a school zone in Maine.

The American Pie hitmaker contested the charge in September (12), and requested a trial, but, after a brief hearing in Rockland on Thursday (24Jan13), he agreed to pay up.

Law officials told the court MCLean's claims that the school zone's warning traffic lights weren't flashing were incorrect.
