Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms He's Back For Terminator 5 ... But To What Extent?

  • 23 January 2013

He’ll be back … but in an as yet unclear role. That’s what we know about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator 5 involvement after the star appeared at the premiere of The Last Stand and listed the film as one of his upcoming projects.

Terminator 4 saw a facial likeness of the action film veteran used rather than the man himself – given that he was in office at the time – but with his political duties now done with, Schwarzenegger has been getting back into acting, starting with The Last Stand. However, Arnie and Terminator are forever linked and he’s spent as much time talking about a potential future hook-up for that franchise as he has his new movie. Empire reports that he named dropped his involvement at a press junket, whilst The Sun went a step further and had a webchat with him, where he talked about the script for Terminator 5.

"They're writing right now Terminator 5," he said. "There have been some writers on it for the last year-and-a-half and they could not pull it off. We have told them over and over that they are going in the wrong direction, now they've finally got rid of those writers and they've got new really quality writers.” Schwarzenegger added "Now they're going in the right direction. I think this year the script will be finished and we will be able to go into pre-production."
