55th Annual Grammy Awards With Chalk And Cheese, Rihanna And Taylor Swift

  • 09 January 2013

Rihanna and Taylor Swift are, at a first glance, polar opposite women and performers. Swift is a sweeter than sweet country singer, while Rihanna is a gritty, sexy, RnB singer - so yes, at a first glance, they inhabit two ends of the spectrum. However, they are within a year of each other age wise, have sold millions of records each, have incredibly loyal fans, have had some disaster past relationships and both use those relationships as fuel for their music. Plus, they're both set to perform at the 55th Grammys, reports E!

Along with America's two of their most exciting song birds, F.U.N., Mumford&Sons, and The Black Keys will also all be performing, with LL Cool J as the host.

Rihanna is nominated for three awards, including best Pop Solo Performance for "Where Have You Been," Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (Featuring Jay-Z) for "Talk That Talk" and Best Short Form Music Video (Featuring Calvin Harris) for "We Found Love."

In contrast, Swift is hoping to bag Record Of The Year, Best Country Duo/Group Performance (with The Civil Wars) and Best Song Written For Visual Media for "Safe & Sound" (in The Hunger Games).

Both of their romantic interests have again hit rocky patches recently, as Harry Styles and Swift broke up while on vacation, and Rihanna and Chris Brown have reportedly had another tiff, however with the Grammys on the way, they'll both certainly have something to keep their minds of heartbreak.
