New Actor, New Trilogy; Transformers 4 Won't Be A Re-Boot Says Michael Bay
Transformers 4 director Michael Bay claims that he’s unearthed an absolute gem to front the next installment of his mega-bucks making franchise, with relative unknown Irish actor Jack Reynor to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in the forthcoming film.
Michael Bay was writing on his official website when he broke the news, enthusiastically explaining “I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4 to star against Mark Wahlberg. Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that?” Given the large Irish community that’s settled in America over the last couple of centuries we reckon quite a few Michael. “Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie WHAT RICHARD DID. This kid is the real deal” the director finished.
Except he hadn’t finished, he also wanted to address rumors that Transformers 4 is going to a reboot. It’s not apparently. “This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different than the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.” So there you go. The film is expected to be out in the summer of 2014.
