I Meant What I Meant - Azealia Banks Defends Calling Perez Hilton A F*ggot
Azealia Banks has defended her use of the ‘f’ word when she was talking about the gossip blogger Perez Hilton on Twitter.
No, not that ‘f’ word. the other one. Banks described Hilton as a ‘f*ggot’ and according to The Mirror, also referred to him as a “b*tch”, d*ckbreath” and ‘n*gga.” All this in response to Perez criticising her for feuding with another female rapper, Angel Haze. When fellow Twitter users called her out on the use of the ‘f’ word, she remained nonplussed and unapologetic, tweeting a series of messages justifying her use of the word. Firstly, she said “If u listen to my music and are not offended by the word nigga.... We're not gonna go here with this faggot shit... We're just not. Lol” and later on tweeted “My most sincere apologies to anyone who was indirectly offended by my foul language. Not sorry for Perez tho. Lol.” Then, just in case anyone was unsure of whether or not Azealia was really thinking straight when she used the word, she tweeted “Really not as moved by this f word thing as u all want me to be. As a bisexual person I knew what I meant when I used that word.” And finally: “And I meant what I meant when I used that word.” Satisfied that she’d got her point across, Banks went back to tweeting a link to her track ‘No Problems,’ which she wrote specifically to diss Angel Haze. Haze appears to have drawn a line under the feud but we reckon they’ll goad each other into further put-downs and rap battles.
