The Celebrity Youth Are Most Generous As Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus And Justin Bieber Top 'Philanthrolist'

The end of the year never fails to spark numerous lists about our favourite celebrities and all the best and worst things they're known for over the past 12 months, top twenty celebrity melt downs, top 5 weddings, top 50 breakups, most scandalous, most attractive, least lucrative, and the list of lists goes on. But Do Something has compiled a list of the most charitable celebrities, so it really is one worth checking out.

This top 20 includes a majority of do-gooders that are well under the age of 40, and many who haven't even celebrated their 30th birthday yet. Some of the youngest charitable hearts are in fact in the top five, and here's why:

Rounding off the top five is the youngest of the pack at just 18 years old, Justin Bieber, and is included for his own 'Believe' charity, as well as his work with Pencil of Promise who help build schools in impoverished countries.

At number 4, 26 year old Lady Gaga was praised for her Born This Way Foundation and her own $1.2m pledge to it, which is in support of anti-bullying campaigns and of the LGBTQ community.

32 year old Channing Tatum has done absolutely loads of work for nature and animals this year, including raising millions for the Rainforest foundation.

20 year old Miley Cyrus was in at number two for her continuous and ongoing work with charities including Save Spot! Rescue, Save The Music Foundation, the Starkey Hearing Foundation, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Woman of the moment, 23 year old Taylor Swift topped the charts for her enormously generous donation of $4m to the Country Hall of Fame Museum, as well as her ongoing work young cancer sufferers. Plus she became the youngest person ever to receive the Robert F. Kennedy Center Ripple of Hope Award. The RFK Center describes itself as the 'center of justice and human rights', the Hope Award is given to those "who demonstrate commitment to social change". Kerry Kennedy, at the time, said of Swift, as reported by the Celebrity Cafe, that it was her unpublicised work that was most impressive: "her leadership in the movement for arts education, her generosity to communities devastated by natural disaster, and especially the compassion she's shown as a proud defender against bullying and LGBTI discrimination."
