Desperate Christopher Maloney Begs Fans To Stop Twitter Abuse

  • 13 December 2012

Christopher Maloney hasn’t exactly endeared himself to his fellow x factor UK contestants, the show’s bosses or the fans since losing out in the final last weekend to James Arthur. Missing the last finalists' performance on the Sunday (December 9) triggered a load of rumours about the Liverpudlian who consistently overachieved in the competition.

Amid accusations of drunkenness and abuse towards other contestants during rehearsals, Maloney was pulled out of the Sunday night final, and MTV has reported since that he’s come under some criticism from both his competitors and fans on Twitter, to the extent that the likes of winner James Arthur, Union J, Rylan Clark and Ella Henderson have all posted messages on Twitter campaigning for Kye Sones to be included on the X Factor UK live tour and not the mouthy Scouser.

However, Maloney has always tried to maintain his innocence over the weekend’s goings-on, saying that he was ill, and in a new twist he took to Twitter himself to beg fans who’d been giving him abuse over the matter to stop. "Please stop online abuse, all I done was follow my dream, coming 3rd was an achievement. Feel gutted I didn't win and I'm unwell right now. Please” he reportedly wrote. However, his words evidently fell on blind eyes and he was met with another barrage of Twitter abuse.
