Will Angelina Jolie Quit Acting And Activism?

  • 05 December 2012

Talks of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt 'quitting Hollywood' have been running around for years, but they have been once again reignited by an interview Angelina gave in which she said "if it [her career] went away tomorrow I would be very happy to be home with the children."

She and Pitt have 6 children together, Maddox is the eldest at 11 while the youngest, twins Knox Leon and Vivienne are both 4 years old. With that many kids around it's a wonder that she's managed to care for them all while still working. However, for some reason she thinks that more of her time will be taken up with them when they hit adolescence rather than in infancy: "I think I'm going to have to give up the acting as the kids hit the teenage years, anyway, too much to manage at home."

Speaking to Channel 4 News she has also spoken about other important matters. Jolie is a 'UN Special Envoy' and has done a great deal of political campaigning, mostly to do with human rights and particularly regarding rape as a weapon of war. UK Foreign Secretary William Hague has said that a British troup will enter Syria in the attempt to help women who are raped in the conflicts there. "I think [the deployment of experts] must be done." She said, "I work a lot with refugees and you meet the people and they immediately want to start talking, they want to know what's happening to their future. They want to participate and put on record what is happening in the country." Hopefully, although she has said that she may stop acting, it's unlikely that her activism will end.
