Limahl's Jungle Meltdown On Reality Show
Eighties pop star Limahl broke down in tears in the Australian jungle just hours before he was voted off British reality Tv show I'm a celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! on Friday (23Nov12).
The Too Shy hitmaker sobbed as he told viewers he was convinced his fellow campmates in the rainforest-based survival programme had turned against him.
Limahl, who joined the show as a surprise contestant last week (ends18Nov12), insisted other stars in the camp, including former Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts and boxing champion David Haye, were shunning him.
He wept as he said, "I must have done something to upset them. I don't know what it is... I don't want to be where I'm not welcome. Nobody responds (to me), nobody asks me anything... The thought of going through 10 days, you know, being here and not having any friends - you know, it's quite tough."
After being comforted and reassured by his fellow contestants, the former Kajagoogoo singer overcame his meltdown, saying, "The cracks were just beginning to show a little bit. I'm only human."
Hours after the drama, Limahl learned he was the latest contestant to lose the public vote and face eviction from the jungle.
After leaving the camp, he joked, "It's a complete surprise. Where was the gay vote? What happened?"
Asked about his emotional final hours on the show, he added, "Oh my God! It was my mini-breakdown. I just thought I had done something wrong... I thought, 'I can't go through the next 10 days on my own'."
