Mary J. Blige Misses Charity Gig After New York Snow Grounds Jet

Mary J. Blige was forced to pull out of a performance at a charity dinner hosted by Forest Whitaker in London on Saturday (10Nov12) after the bad weather on _A_merica's East Coast grounded her plane.

The No More Drama superstar agreed to provide the entertainment at the Peace-Earth Foundation fundraiser at the Banqueting House in Whitehall in the U.K. capital.

The event was hosted by Whitaker and cost guests including James MC_A_voy, Gemma _A_rterton and Trudie Styler $1,600 (£1,000) a head.

However, following the snow storms which hit New York in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Blige was unable to catch her private jet.

A spokesperson for the star tells Britain's Daily Mail, "Mary had planned to sing, but after a snow storm hit New York the private jet which was to take her to the event was unable to fly. She was disappointed not to be there."
