Rip This Joint: Rolling Stones Fans Storm Virgin Megastore For Cheap Tickets

  • 25 October 2012

Parisian fans of The Rolling Stones descended on the Champs Elysee on Thursday morning for a chance to land one of only 300 tickets for the band's show at the Trabendo concert hall later tonight (October 25, 2012).

The tiny venue - which later this week hosts Lee Fields & The Expressions and singer-songwriter Alex Clare - will be packed to the rafters for the concert, with the Stones likely to road-test a setlist prepared for their London and New York shows in November. Tickets went on sale at Virgin Megastore at 12pm today, with lucky fans warned, "Mobile phones, cameras, video equipment and recording devices are strictly prohibited" Ronnie Wood had expressed a desire to test the set on Wednesday, telling NME "There's going to be little club gigs that we're gonna surprise ourselves to do as well, we'll bung a few in next week or the week after, so look out for any Cockroaches gigs or whatever!" Wood's comments suggest there may be a handful of gigs in the French capital over the coming days.

The £12 ticket price is slightly cheaper than those that went on sale for the band's arena shows. Fans were asked to cough up over £300 for seats anywhere near the stage in London or New York. Scandalous.
