Paranormal Idiocy: Nottingham Cinema Shows Paranormal Activity 4 To Children

  • 25 October 2012

In any job, there are bound to be mistakes made; making mojito with vodka, faxing a document to the wrong client, attributing Avatar to David Cameron... Yes, we all make mistakes, but to let a room full of children sit down in front of one of the scariest horror movies of the year is more than a mistake, it's just plain stupid.

Around 25 families were sitting in the cinema when the film came on, and there's no subtly, the opening scene sees a woman's bloody corpse hurtling towards the camera, leaving the children and their parents appropriately terrified and rushing for the exits.

For Mum, Natasha Lewis, the problems began before the opening of the movie as it arrived late, she said "We sat down and it was meant to start at 10am, but it took until 10.30am for the lights to go down and for the trailers to start." reported the Sun. They started playing the movie and I thought - this doesn't look right. And then I recognised the opening sequence as a flashback to the first movie, which I saw a couple of years ago. It opens on the most terrifying scene in the first film - where a body shoots full pelt towards the camera. It's enough to make grown men jump, so you can imagine the terror in these young faces. Everybody just scrambled for the exits, all you could hear were children crying and screaming. Everyone was very upset. It was only about two minutes worth of the film but it was enough to scar them for life."

Cineworld have offered a full refund and apology to everyone that attended the cinema and reassured the unlucky audience that there'll be no repeat, saying "We take matters such as this very seriously and are currently working with technicians to ensure this does not happen again."
