Lena Dunham Book Set For At Least A $1m Deal

Lena Dunham, rising star and creator of HBO’s Girls, is writing a book, which is being shopped around for $1m (at least!) according to an email obtained by Slate.com.

Hurtling into the spotlight with her candid style and snappy writing, Dunham has created a sort of anti-Sex And The City comedy, featuring the not so glamorous lives of a few friends in NYC. Girls, nominated but ultimately empty-handed in four Emmy categories, is set for a second season this January, and Dunham is set to accompany her popular series with a book. ‘Not That Kind of Girl: Advice by Lena Dunham’ will be a collection of - you guessed it - advisory nuggets on issues that Dunham feels are necessary for discussion. Amongst these will likely feature boys, sex, eating disorders and the like, and anything else that is taken care of in Girls, not forgetting embarrassing yourself, which is the crux of the HBO comedy.

Talking on her new found success story, Dunham vowed to insert the true sense of New York multiculturalism in the upcoming return to Fortune magazine. The second season next year will feature "a multitude of new characters in the show. There are some of color. Some are not. Some are Caucasian," she said "All I want to do is make women feel excited and included by the show.
