Gentle Giant: It was with much regret this week that we reported on the passing of Michael Clarke Duncan, the larger than life star of 'Armageddon' and 'The Green Mile'. Tributes have been pouring in all week, with Michael Bay among those remembering the inimitable Hollywood star.

Noah's Ark? So what happened when Russell Crowe took time out from filming his movie adaptation of the biblical story to go kayaking in Long Island? Well, he got lost of course, and had to be rescued by the U.S. Coast Guards team.

In The Line of Fire: Oh Clint! Few can doubt Clint Eastwood's acting credentials, though he did himself little favours this week at the Republican Convention. In a speech endorsing Mitt Romney, Clint started talking to President Obama.through that famous method of communication: an empty chair.

No We Cant! Despite Clint's mishap, Nicki Minaj threw some unlikely support behind Mitt Romney's campaign too, dissing President Obama's record on Lil Wayne's latest mix-tape and endorsing the Republican candidate.

Hip Hop mourns: Unfortunately, the entertainment industry lost another respected figure this week, with news that Chris Lighty - the man many deem responsible for the boom in commercial hip-hop at the turn of the century - was found dead in New York. Our condolences go out to the mogul's family and friends.

Rumour Has it: Adele followers got briefly excited this week when one U.S. magazine claimed the British star had married Simon Konecki in secret. Well, it seems as though the 'Someone Like You' star wouldn't do a thing like tying the knot without telling her dedicated fans first.

Drive Thru? It was a lucky escape for Cheryl Cole and Will.i.am last week, after the latter crashed his vehicle into a parked car while pulling into a McDonalds branch in Los Angeles. Will.i.am was hospitalized and fitted with a neck brace, while Cheryl injured her arm!

Russell bags Ginger Spice? With the gossip sites keeping their eyes firmly on Katy Perry and John Mayer, Russell Brand caught everyone off guard last week by striking up a relationship with Ginger Spice herself Geri Halliwell!

Trading Places? Looks as though Eddie Murphy might be swapping his movie career for the small screen, with news that CBS have given the green-light to a proposed television series based on his famous 'Beverly Hills Cop' movies. After a lacklustre couple of years for Murphy, we here at Contactmusic.com think this might not be such a bad idea.

Video of the Week: This week's hottest footage comes from Manhattan, where Cher Lloyd was signing autographs at the Best Buy store. The British star is hoping to crack America, and recently spoke of her surprise at the large crowds that gathered to watch her on The Today Show.
