John Galliano Stripped Of French Award

Disgraced fashion designer John Galliano has been stripped of a prestigious French award after hurling racist and anti-Semitic remarks at a group of shocked bar patrons last year (11).
The fallen fashion king was arrested in February, 2011, over allegations he became embroiled in a bust-up in Paris, France, and had shouted insults.
He was subsequently fired from his job as head designer at Christian Dior, fined $8,428 (Gbp5,268) and charged for his behaviour, and now the star has been dealt another blow after French officials decided to revoke his Legion d'Honneur medal which Galliano received in 2009 for his contributions to haute couture.
The decree was signed by French President Francois Hollande and published in the country's official journal on Thursday (23Aug12).
