Stars Call On U.k. Prime Minister To Act Against Music Piracy
Stars including Sir Elton John and The Who rockers Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are urging British Prime Minister David Cameron to take a stand against illegal downloading.
The musicians have joined Queen guitarist Brian May, music mogul Simon Cowell, and British rapper Tinie Tempah in signing a letter to the U.K. leader demanding action.
The rockers insist bosses of internet search engines must do more to police file-sharing websites and crackdown on online piracy.
The letter, sent on Tuesday (24Jul12), also urges British politicians to introduce anti-piracy laws passed in the 2010 Digital Economy Act ahead of its scheduled implementation in 2014.
