Lily Cole: Playing An Old Lady 'Got A Bit Deep'
Lily Cole says playing an old lady in 'Snow White and the Huntsman' ''all got a bit deep''.
The model-turned-actress - who stars alongside Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart in the upcoming fairytale adaptation - revealed getting into character was a ''bizarre experience''.
The 24-year-old star said: ''It was a very bizarre experience. I watched the make-up artists apply it and it was certainly very surreal. I started thinking, 'What will I be like as an old lady, physically and mentally?'
''It made me quite reflective and quite sad actually - it all got a bit deep.''
Lily plays a young girl transformed into a haggard old lady by the evil Queen Ravenna, and she confessed working alongside Charlize and Kristin was a ''huge pull'' in accepting the role.
She explained: ''I loved the strong, female characters and The Script is such a page-turner. It's a very dark take on something everyone knows so well. I was so keen to work with Rupert Sanders, the director - he's so intelligent and talented.
''And Charlize was a huge pull - I'm a big fan of her work. And Kristen was great to work with too - I hadn't actually watched 'Twilight' before I started the film. I never approached it in terms of 'how can I learn from these people', but perhaps you do in subtle ways.''
Lily - who has previously starred in 'The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus' alongside the late Heath Ledger - has big plans for her future in film.
She added to Vogue.co.uk: ''I'd love to work with Judi Dench and Marion Cotillard.''
Lily was in Cannes for the 65th Annual Film Festival yesterday (22.05.12) promoting her latest film, 'Confessions of a Child of the Century', with co-star Pete Doherty.
