The Hunger Games Clip: Lenny Kravitz' Cinna Makes His Entrance

  • 07 March 2012

Of all 'The Hunger Games' cast members, it was the inclusion of Lenny Kravitz that caused the most surprise, with the rocker playing Cinna, the lead stylist for District 12's Katniss Everdeen - played by Jennifer Lawrence - and Peeta Mellark (JOSH HUTCHINSON,) reports Entertainment Weekly.
Kravitz isn't a complete novice in front of the film cameras, but he hasn't exactly got a huge resume in movies with most roles - such as those in 'Zoolander' and 'The Diving Bell - being cameo parts in which he played himself. He did however receive high praise for his role as Nurse John in the Academy Award-nominated picture 'Precious,' released in 2009. A clip has been revealed this week showing Kravitz' character in 'The Hunger Games' - documenting the beginning of his friendship with Lawrence's main character. "I'm sorry that this happened to you," he tells Katniss, "and I'm here to help you in any way that I can;" she replies "Most people just congratulate me," to which he says "Well, I don't see the point in that."
Anticipation for the film is high ahead of its release on March 23rd 2012, with Rick Butler, executive vice president of ticket sellers Fandango's telling the New York Daily News recently "'The Hunger Games' is off to a fantastic start, we saw the biggest first day advance ticket sales in our company's nearly 12-year history - which is especially impressive for a March release and a non-sequel." It was a new advance ticket sales record for Fandango beating the third 'Twilight Saga' film.
