Channing Tatum: 'The Vow Won't Be The Last Time I Strip Off'

  • 08 February 2012

Channing Tatum has spoken out about his 'very gratuitous' nude scenes in new film The Vow and has revealed that it won't be the last time he takes his clothes off in a movie. The Vow also stars Rachel McAdams and is based on the true story of a woman who is put into a coma after a car accident and wakes up with severe memory loss, forgetting who her husband is.

Speaking to E! Online, the G.I. Joe actor questioned his shirtless scenes: 'It was like, 'Do I really need to have my shirt off to take out the garbage while eating a piece of pizza and picking up a cat?' Shirtless? Was that really necessary?' However, he admits that one scene in which his bare bottom is showing 'wasn't gratuitous. That was necessary.'

The Vow director, Michael Suscy, recently admitted that he included the shirtless scenes in 'to keep the fans happy.' Even Tatum's wife, Jenna Dewan, had no objections to the scenes, saying to E! Online: 'It's completely screen-worthy...It's definitely going to be something people rewind and play.'

This year, Tatum has five films coming out in the UK: including Haywire and The Vow, you can catch the actor in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the sequel to the popular 2009 action movie; 21 Jump Street, the film adaptation of the 80's crime drama and Magic Mike, a film that will see Tatum hark back to his days as a stripper. The film will surely see more nude scenes from Tatum and when E! Online quizzed him about that, he replied: 'I'm sure it won't be the last time I take my clothes off.'
