Excited Expectant Dad Eric Dane

Eric Dane is "excited" about becoming a dad.

The 'Grey's Anatomy' star has promised to go into the delivery room to look after partner Rebecca Gayheart when she goes into labour in approximately three weeks.

He said: "I'll be in the room. I'm going to stay close to my wife and make sure that she's alright. I'm really excited. I'm also very interested."

Despite knowing they are expecting a girl, the Hollywood couple are holding off naming the baby until she arrives.

Eric admitted: "Rebecca wants to wait until she sees her before we give her a name."

However, when they do name her, Eric has admitted they will not be giving their daughter an unusual name.

He said: "We went straight down the middle with this one."

Recently Eric claimed he was particularly happy when they found out the gender of their baby, saying: "It just makes sense that I'm having a girl. I don't know what it is, but I am excited it's a girl."
