Jodie Foster's Mother Woes

Jodie Foster's relationship with her mother suffered after she had children.
The 'Silence Of The Lambs' actress - who has two children, 12-year-old Charlie and Kit, nine - claims her already-difficult relationship with her mum Brandy was strained further when she rejected her parenting advice.
Jodie said: "The hardest time we ever had was when the kids were young. For Brandy, I think it was about 'You're leaving me' and 'We're not doing this together'. I wasn't gonna pick the baby name she wanted, I wasn't gonna do it the way she wanted. And she saw it as a rejection of how she raised us."
The 47-year-old actress - who found fame as a child star when Brandy was her manager - also admits she believed her mother was trying to live vicariously through her.
She told America's More magazine: "Her vicarious thrill was, 'You will be respected in ways that I wasn't.'"
However, Jodie believes she only took control of her career after starring in 'The Silence of the Lambs' in 1991.
She added: "I started to tell my story. I was no longer the one obsessed with surviving as a victim. Now I was the one who saves the victims."
