James Cameron: 'Don't Jump To Conclusions About Avatar 2'
James Cameron has urged 'Avatar' fans not to "jump to conclusions" about the sequel.
The director is currently working on the sequel to the sci-fi movie set on a planet named Pandora invaded by humans looking for a natural resource, and while Sigourney Weaver - whose character died at the end of the first film - has previously said she would be returning to the follow-up, James has confirmed it may not be in the capacity most would expect.
He said: "Well, I don't want to disabuse her of that fantasy. But have you ever heard of nonlinear storytelling? A lot happens on the planet before she shows up, and before Jake shows up to join her. She's there for 15 years ahead of time. I don't know, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions."
The 'Titanic' filmmaker refused to give away any more information, claiming he already had.
He said during a Q&A: "I've already said way too much about 'Avatar 2' and '3' here and there, but people piece it together like those voice cameos and tell the whole story!
"When you have a science fiction series, a science fiction franchise, you're never dead, unless your DNA is expunged from the universe. And then there's always time travel!"
