The Dublin based The Thrills have been lumped in with the rising garage rock movement, but are in fact utterly detached from it, as this sparkly pop tune shows. This wonderfully cheery summer anthem recalls such 60s luminaries as The Beach Boys, whilst showing a marvellous ear for a tune and an indelibly original touch. Some wonderful rising guitar arpeggios and a cheeky reference to the Monkees round this gem out. One can only guess that the sunny LA weather infected these Dublin lads during the recording of their yet to be released album So Much For The City, which this is taken from.
