What better release date than Valentine’s day for a single called Love Is An Arrow? Cheesy at it sounds, this is a breezy love song and it will undoubtedly touch your heart, if not melt it. It doesn’t take much to fall for Aberfeldy’s country-tinged melodies, its Brian Wilson harmonies and clean finger-style guitars. Funny how rhymes such as “Love is a verb and a noun as well, you find it in the dictionary under

L” would sound terrible if ever sung by anyone else, but here they sound perfect. With backing vocals in the style of Manhattan Transfer, the delicacy and catchiness of Love Is An Arrow justifies the critical acclaim this band is having at the moment, together with appearances at all the folk festivals in the UK and Europe. This is a Love song with capital L, and it could seriously become the soundtrack of the romantic evening you’ll be having on its release date.
